Why Join a Motorcycle Club or Riding Group in Texas?

Texas gives riders a lot of ground to cover, and having other riders to explore it with can open the door to roads, destinations, events, and local hangouts you might never find on your own. Joining a motorcycle club or riding group in Texas is also an easy way to meet people who share your love of riding.

If you’re new to Texas, recently started riding, moved to a different part of the state, or simply don’t have many people to ride with, finding a local group can help you become more connected to the motorcycle community.

Depending on the club or riding group, you may have opportunities to:

  • Meet other riders in your part of Texas
  • Discover new roads, day trips, and motorcycle destinations
  • Join organized group rides and weekend trips
  • Attend bike nights, motorcycle rallies, events, and meetups
  • Participate in charity rides and support local causes
  • Learn from riders with different backgrounds and levels of experience
  • Connect with riders who share similar interests, lifestyles, or motorcycles

You don’t have to join a traditional motorcycle club to find your place in the Texas riding community. Some riders enjoy the structure and traditions that come with an established club. Others would rather have a group of riding buddies who send out a message saying, “We’re riding Saturday. Who’s in?”

There isn’t one right way to be part of the motorcycle community. Find a club or group where you’re comfortable with the people, the riding style, and what’s expected of you, then go put some Texas miles behind you.

New to Group Riding?

Riding with a group can be a completely different experience from riding alone. Before heading out with a new motorcycle club or riding group, take a few minutes to understand how the group rides and what will be expected of you.

Ask about the planned route, riding formation, hand signals, fuel and rest stops, and what the group does if riders become separated. Some groups have very structured riding procedures, while others are much more casual.

Most importantly, ride your own ride. Never push yourself beyond your skill level or comfort zone just to keep up with the riders in front of you. A good motorcycle riding group should respect each rider’s experience and ability.
